◎医疗和卫生事业Medical Care and Public Health
　　全市现有医疗卫生机构716家，其中公立综合性医院31家、中医院11家、专科医院12家，私营医院41家，中心卫生院55家，医学在职培训机构6所，医学科研机构2所，采供血机构4家。温州医学院附属眼视光医院为浙江省眼视光医学基地。全市有卫技人员31843人，注册执业和助理医师14835人，注册护理人员8130人。全市现有病床18223张，千人床位数2.41张。
　　Wenzhou boasts 716 medical and public health institutions, including 31 public general hospitals, 11 traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, 12 hospitals for special diseases, 41 private-owned hospitals, 55 public health centers, 6 medical on-the-job training institutions, 2 medical research institutes and 4 blood collection and supply institutions. The Eye Hospital affiliated to Medical College is the base of Optometry and Ophthalmology in Zhejiang Province. The city now has a total of 31,843 medical workers, including 14,835 certified practicing and assistant doctors and 8,130 certified nurses, and 18,223 beds with 2.41 beds for every 1,000 people.

◎体育事业Sports
　　近年来，全市上下积极参与体育社会化进程，促进了全市群众性体育活动持续、快速、健康发展，使温州的体育事业取得了突飞猛进的进步。在2004年雅典奥运会上，温籍运动员朱启南获射击男子10m气步枪奥运冠军，在多哈亚运会上，温籍运动员毛亚琪获武术（套路）南拳南刀全能冠军，朱敏圆获皮划艇女子500米双人皮艇冠军。温州还积极举办了第五届世界女子金属地掷球锦标赛。另外，我市运动员还获得4项世界冠军，3项世界杯站赛冠军，20项全国冠军。全市现有公共体育场馆28个，业余体校9所，公共健身点2163个。
　　In recent years, the socialization progress of the whole city actively taking part in sports has promoted the sustainable, rapid and healthy development of mass sports activities and recorded remarkable progress in sports. In 2004, in the Athens Olympic Games, Chinese-born athlete Zhu Qinan won championship of men’s 10m air rifle and in the Doha Asian Games, Chinese-born athlete Mao Yaqi won all-round champion of Wushu (martial arts)(set pattern) and Nanquan (Southern boxing) and Nandao (Southern sword play), and Zhu Minyuan champion of women’s 500m double Kayak. The city also hosted the 5th World Women’s Boule Championship. Besides, the city’s athletes won 4 world championships, 3 championships of the World Cup (station) competitions and 20 national championships. It now has 28 public stadiums, 9 spare-time sports schools and 2,163 public fitness stations.
